Sacramento Real Estate Update for Homes Sold

To the left is a chart showing the single family homes sold in and around the Sacramento, CA area from January 1, 2008 through August 31, 2008
This chart does not include condos, land, multi dwelling units or business opportunities.
The trend of sold houses as seen in the chart was a steady increase from January 2008 until July 2008 with August home sales down 201 houses sold the previous month in July. The chart below shows the number of homes sold in the Sacramento region along with the average sold price for each month. Although, the number of sold houses in August was down from July, the average sold price of a house was up by $5,506.

Please remember, that each neighborhood within a one square mile radius of you house will have its own real estate market trend of homes sold, average prices and homes for sale. The chart is an overview of each zip code not necessarily a specific neighborhood.
In August 2008, the Sacramento area had 1,073 homes for sale for the month and by the end of August 1,862 homes sold for an average price of $240,541. It took an average of 51 days to sell these homes for sale and the average square footage of homes sold in Sacramento for August 2008 was 1,697.
Data Quick reported that Sacramento area home sales are up 41.6% in August. This figure included Sacramento County, Yolo County, Placer County and El Dorado County. Prices in the Sacramento County were reported 32.7% down from last year.
From January 2008 through August 2008 in the Sacramento County area 11, 942 single family homes have sold.
