A Kiss and A Race in Downtown Sacramento on Saturday

Happy Valentine’s Day to each of you. Spread a little love around…we could all use some!

Today, Downtown Sacramento is buzzing, the spokes are twirling and the crowds will be shouting during the Amgen Tour of California.

This is an event you may not want to miss.

Can you believe that Lance Armstrong, seven time winner of the Tour de France will be right here making his comeback.

Cyclists Christian Vande Velde, Levi Leipheimer, Basso of Liquigas and George Hincapie of Columbia are just a few of the many to be watching along the downtown Capitol Mall race course.

75,000 cyclist fans will be swarming Downtown Sacramento watching the cyclist race east on N Street, north on 19^th Street and West on L Street the 11th Street finish line.

Pre-race events start at 9:00 am with the race start at 1:30. Many Downtown Sacramento streets will be closed so leave early, park and walk or if you live in Midtown, just walk.

Bring your umbrella, enjoy the race and plan to eat at one of the many excellent restaurants Downtown and Happy Valentine’s Day!
