Does the new Homeowner’s Association not recognize you as the new homeowner????
Doesn’t mean it will happen to everyone but it did happen to one of my new Sacramento First Time Home Buyers and took her by surprise! Be sure to follow through by calling your Realtor ®, just like she did and the Realtor ® will check into it for you.
I recommended to my previous home buyer that she obtain a copy of the canceled checks from the Title company or some proof as to the bills being paid and the date the checks were cashed by the utility companies.
As always keep all documentation with your file on your new house just in case any questions should arise down the line.
Most importantly, if a lien has been filed make sure that you receive a copy of the paperwork removing that lien.
Enjoy your new home and don’t forget to file those IRS papers to get your First Time Home Buyer tax credit. I know my First Time Home Buyer is looking forward to the $8,000. I bet you are too!!!!
