It’s that time again to celebrate the Stockton Asparagus Festival, April 24–26, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Come enjoy locally grown asparagus with some festive mouth watering recipes. Even if you don’t like asparagus, there is plenty to keep you entertained with 600 booths, displays, Martin Yan in the Celebrity kitchen, recipe contests, eating competition, strolling stilt walkers, and exhibits and live entertainment.
There’s more at the Asparagus Festival than JUST asparagus…
And BEST of all don’t miss the Tyson, celebrity skate boarding bull dog every day at SKyy Dog Arena at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Also see other famous Skyy dogs perform in the arena.
Or maybe sea lions are your favorite. Each day at 2:00 and 4:30 they will perform. You can get your photo taken with them, watch them eat, swim, bark and do what sea lions do.
Kaiser Permanente Great Spear-It Run on Sunday, April 26th.
Yearly golf contest to win $100,000 and Mercedes Benz each day to see who can get the ball over the water and in the hole on McLeod Lake. 50 cents a shot.
There will be loads of Spear-Its offering varieties of wines and microbrews.
