Sacramento Short Sale Agents
As Sacramento REALTOR® who helps home sellers with short sales, I was appalled when I found out that we have some short sale agents who don’t do their own short sale work but hire someone else to do their work have the nerve to require the home buyer pay 1-2% of the sales price of the house to the short sale specialist.
All I can say is that if a Sacramento agent doesn’t know how to do a short sale and wants to hire a short sale specialist to do their job for them, that’s fine. I would rather see someone that knows how to work a short sale than to see a home go into foreclosure because an agent took on a job they didn’t know how to do.
But, the cost of hiring anyone to do any part of your job as a listing agent needs to be paid by the person hiring. That means the agent should be paying for this service, not the home buyer. The home buyer doesn’t hire the short sale specialist and this in my humble opinion is not a home buyer cost.
My Elk Grove home buyers decided not to view the homes for sale by the Sacramento short sale agent who wants home buyers to pay for their short sale specialist and I thoroughly agreed with them. Time for real estate agents to take responsibility and do their job. If the job is too much for you, then find another line of work! Just sayin.
Sacramento Real Estate
Just taking a zillion listings is not what real estate is all about. This is a people job and it requires real estate agents to do the right thing. There are short sale sellers who have no idea how a short sale works and will sign and agree to what their agents put in front of them to sign. Short sales are tough for most short sale sellers and they should never be taken advantage of and made to sign some of the most ridiculous things I have seen attached on the MLS listings.
In conclusion, all I can say is do your job and don’t pass the buck!
