Have You Ever Been Memed?

MemeHappyI just got Memed Meme is a take on being tagged. No, not tagging a wall with graffiti, but actually running and touching another while yelling out YOUR IT! The difference is that this is done in the blogging world and I have just been memed by the Great, Juicy Tomato, himself. The Real Estate Tomato was memed by the Beautiful and Talented Mary McKnight, the REBlogGirl. Its best not to break the chain especially when youve been tagged by the best! Want to know more about meme? Now, the rule for this meme, is tell the blogging world 5 things about yourself that no one knows so that you become a little more real to the blogging world and they get to know the real you. Then, its off to go Meme (tag) someone else and pass it on. You never want to be the one that breaks the chain!

Here goes with 5 Things Most People Dont Know About Gena

  1. My first language was Spanish. Since my parents moved to Caracas, Venezuela when I was 2 and my nanny did not speak English, I learned Spanish instead. Then I went on to a Spanish-speaking school where I took a taxi to school each day. Since both of my parents were in the field of Geology, traveled and entertained quite a bit, I was left with the nanny who lived with us, Carmen (whom I loved, dearly) so consequently I spoke ONLY Spanish up until the time we returned to the U.S. when I was 8 years old and for the first time had to learn English not an easy language, folks!
  2. Dancing was my life from age 4 until I had children. While living in Denver, Colorado, I danced with Denver Civic Ballet Company and had guest appearances with ABT of New York when they came to Denver to perform. Enrique Martinez, the artistic Director brought the ballet to Denver and began the cultural ballet enlightenment for the area. I danced the Nutcracker for many years and have fond memories.
  3. As an avid skier, in Colorado and taking advantage of a school program where if the student maintained a B average, Friday was considered a ski day I would ski all day Friday and then again each weekend. I was a fearless skier and once was at Breckenridge Ski Basin where I entered the slalom race with only boys and loads of moguls and won 3rd place. The girls team was full. Oh what fun, those days were I remember singing bottles of bear on the wall in the bus on the way up to the ski areas. I dont think the schools would consider that appropriate, now. But we did have oh, so much fun!
  4. While living in Walnut Creek, CA one day during an earthquake, taking the liberty of shaving my legs in the bath tub/shower, I fell and broke my leg. As I was falling I grabbed onto the shower door handle to catch the fall, which was a mistake. It simply took all the skin off my arm from my wrist to my elbow and dispensed blood all over the tub (took awhile to figure out where all the blood was coming from). My 2 daughters came running wanting to call 911. My response was a definite absolutely NOT. No way did I want good looking fireman in my bathroom while I was in my birthday suit.
  5. While vacationing in the Rivera Maya, Mexico, I went scuba diving for the first time. Most people take classes for quite awhile and become proficient at scuba diving as well as knowing how to swim. I did not. Not to say that it was the smartest thing to do, but it turned out great and I enjoyed it immensely. I actually signed up for 2 excursions, one walking directly into the water and the other falling backwards off a boat in the middle of the water. That part was extremely scary (falling off the boat) they ended up pushing me into the water because I couldnt bring myself to fall backwards. Boy, those tanks are unbelievably heavy. When everyone else got up with their tanks that had been placed on their backs from a sitting position, and walked into the water, I was still trying desperately to stand. It took 2 senores to pry me up. It was a great experience, a risky experience but one that I will always remember I did it!

Now, that you know 5 new things about me, I must do my duty and pass this meme onto three or maybe 4 to be on the safe side other bloggers to keep the meme (tag) going

Geri Sonkin, Long Island Best Homes

Elise Wright at FamousAgents.com

Rory Siems, Laguna Niguel Real Estate
