Neighbors in Elk Grove CA will be celebrating the GRAND Opening of the fruit of their labor, Morse Community Park on August 16, 2008
Even though this area has been hit hard with real estate foreclosures and short sales, along with declining revenue to build parks in these new neighborhoods, Morse Community Park is a true testament of neighbors who care.
These homeowners got together, got the community to help by donating money, time and labor along with CSD to build what is a first in Elk Grove parks.
Morse Community Park offers “spray-ground” water area, bocce ball courts, skateboard area, tot play area with shaded areas, outdoor fitness equipment, restrooms, seating for 100 under a shaded structure plus more to come. There’s even little teaching areas about the butterfly along the path.
I understand that soccer and baseball fields, dog park and a future community center will all be built on this 30 acre park that has been the sweat and dreams for these neighbors. Come take a tour of Morse Park and check out the video I took after showing new home buyers houses for sale in Elk Grove this weekend.

It’s always nice to see a community band together and do something nice like build a park. Hopefully they will enjoy it for many years to come!
I can’t wait to see how the park looks when they get all 30 acres finished. The day I was there, the kids were enjoying themselves before the official opening.
It’s so nice to see a community come together for something so worthwhile, our kids!
This is a neat place to bring my grandchildren, they really enjoyed it as I also did, thank you so much elk grove for putting this together, that is what unity is all about!
Rosemarie,
I couldn’t agree more!!!
Glad your grandchildren had a terrific time.
Really a nice place for the kids to grow.
Thanks for sharing it here.
Ethanpaul,
It sure is. I was impressed not only with how the park turned out but more how the community pulled together to make this a vocal point for your neighborhood. We need more communities like this one!
