As Roberta Murphy from San Diego’s Luxury Home Digest put it, the “F” word is creeping into luxury real estate. Her article this past week reports that the number of million dollar plus homes in foreclosure is on the rise in San Diego.
It would seem that no one is exempt from foreclosure in this economy. In the Sacramento area we have very few luxury homes in foreclosure at this time.
Roberta pointed out that the San Diego luxury home market in the exclusive Rancho Sante Fe has 34 homes in the foreclosure process valued at $12 million. If you are interested in seeing some of the finest luxury homes in the foreclosure market be sure to check out The Finest Foreclosures.

If the number of luxury homes in foreclosure increases in the Sacramento neighboring luxury foreclosure home market, then there may be a luxury home rental market. Since there are few luxury foreclosures in our area, it is conceivable that these owners are “well entrenched and funded” to wait out this market crisis.
