If home buyers and home sellers think Trulia and Zillow are websites that provide home buyers and sellers accurate information for nothing, you are wrong. Home buyers and home sellers are being led down a path of misinformation.
Did you really think that Trulia and Zillow were there for home buyers and home sellers to provide information for free? No, sorry but Trulia and Zillow make their money through advertising. Every time you, as a home buyer or home seller visit Trulia or Zillow you are being counted, then sold to the agents you are willing to pay for a zip code based upon the number of buyers and sellers who visit those sites. Then, your information is captured and sent to the paying agent to help you with your real estate needs.
Have you ever wondered when you, as a home buyer request information about a home for sale on Trulia or Zillow and are told by the real estate agent that the house already has an offer? Well, that’s because Trulia and Zillow have old listings of homes for sale. Sacramento MLS will not send these websites the listings so they have to get them in whatever means they can but unfortunately they are not updated. So, for the most part home buyers are looking at old information.
