Folsom Information

Located just 20 miles east from Downtown Sacramento on highway 50, this upscale community is the perfect blend of the old and the new. Sutter Street in downtown Folsom is a favorite spot to get a flavor of the old days.

With 38 parks in Folsom, 9 Elementary Schools, 2 Middle Schools, 2 High Schools, the neighborhood is rife with amenities. Folsom has its own zoo,  olympic pool at the Aquatic Center, water slides not to mention whitewater rafting, horseback riding, cycling and Folsom Lake for water skiing, sailing, swimming and fishing.  With the American River the parks with wildlife and the 32 mile paved path from Beal’s Point at Folsom Lake to Sacramento are just a few of the many amenities Folsom has to offer.

Along Historic Folsom, you'll find there is a bit of the old gold rush days you will find along with some Victorian homes.  Just like Sacramento, Folsom now has 2nd Saturday Art Walk located on Sutter Street.

Across the river, luxury homes are nestled in the hills of the American River Canyon, along with a number of newer subdivisions with houses of varying prices. 

Folsom is also home to the Folsom Lake State Recreational Area which is over 18,000 acres and a great place for boating, water-skiing, fishing, hiking, picnicking and camping. The Nimbus Fish Hatchery is a unique place to visit where salmon and trout can be seen in their annual migration toward spawning grounds.

LightRail was extended to Folsom for easier commutes to Downtown Sacramento as well as connections toward the Bay Area. This is quite an asset to those living in Folsom and cuts down considerably in the commute time.

The community School District is Folsom-Cordova Unified with high ranking scores which draws residents to the area.
